Q: I get the black x but unable to delete the app

I hold down the app and get the black "x" but unable to remove and/or delete the app

iPad Air 2 WiFi, Cellular, iOS 10.0.2

    Restart your iPhone then try again ...

     

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

    Hi. If restarting doesn't help, there's another way to delete an app that may work when the shaking mode does not. Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud  Usage > STORAGE Manage Storage. Note that this is the first Manage Storage. Wait for the list to populate and tap on the entry for the app. It should offer a Delete App button which may work.
