After reviewing your post, it sounds like only one episode has trouble with the sound. You have deleted it and redownloaded it and the issue persists. Other episodes from the same series do not have this problem. It sounds like this is isolated to this one episode and not your device. I would recommend you read this article, it may be an issue with the download itself.

You can also adjust the volume of the file itself in iTunes by right clicking, or control+clicking the episode, going to the Options tab, and sliding the volume adjust slider to the right in the mean time.
