Q: email help

I have been having trouble with my apple mail account.  It keeps asking me for a password.  I can access my mail from my mail provider so I know the password is correct.  HELP!!

    What does Connection Doctor reveal? Mail>Window>Connection Doctor

    What type of account? IMAP/Exchange or POP3

    Did it work before on the Mac?

    Who is the mail provider?

    my provider is comcast.  it worked originally and then I had to change my password at comcast and that is when all the trouble began.  But I could still put the password in and it would then connect.  I can get on the comcast site and access email so they say it isn't them or I wouldn't be able to get my email on their site.  That is how I know the password is correct
