Q: iPhone 3GS with replaced battery

I've bought and replaced the old battery by the knew one (from iFixit) and reassembled my iPhone 3GS, I tried to turn it on but nothing appeared on screen. Suddenly a ton sounded and the Photo Application on my Mac opened up showing the pictures stored inside the phone and I, fast as I could….lol…, imported everything that was “arrested” inside, but on screen of the phone nothing appeared. If I unplug the charging cable from the phone, a white screen shows up for some seconds and after that it disappears. With the iTunes software opened, it detects the phone, show it and I can see that it is being charged and has 58%, opps, now is 59%. What else could I do to have my dear iPhone 3GS working, at least as a phone.

A forced restart may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

No content is affected by this procedure.

Hi my friend.
I already did it but had no success. Now, with iTunes, I am restoring it from factory state. When it finished I will try the forced restart again and I let you know if it helped, ok ?

Well, after the restoring I've got a message saying " There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting tô activate. Please disconnect and insert a SIM card in this iPhone." I disconnected but all I've got is white screen. No Apple logo or anything else from iOS. I believe that installing the card will make no difference. And it still charging ... Any clue ?

ALL iPhones require a SIM card to be in place to activate after the restore process. No way around this.

No luck. It shows in iTunes (as restored) and it shows a white screen overtime I plugin and pullout the power cable ... and now the new battery is 100% charged...

Sounds like your 7 year-old phone is dead or dying. Time to think about purchasing a new phone.
