Q: 2010 Macbook pro wifi broken.

I see that you are experiencing some Wi-Fi issues on your MacBook Pro. I see that you say that the Wi-Fi will infrequently turn off, and you are not able to turn it back on again without a restart and an NVRAM or SMC reset. I have a few different routes of troubleshooting that may be helpful to you. First, if you are simply dropping connection to your Wi-Fi access point, use Wireless Diagnostics to help you understand the root cause:

If this is not the issue you are seeing, you may want to try to use System Profiler to make sure that your Wi-Fi card is still seen by the computer after the Wi-Fi turns off:
