Oct 20, 2016 12:18 AM in response to brijs001by K Shaffer,Usually the voltage specification for the MagSafe adapter is worldwide
and automatically adjusts for the input value, so output remains correct.
This should mean that an adapter from one region or country would be
able to work elsewhere in other locations where the grid power and the
AC power-in plug may differ. A 'primary adapter' which only physically
changes the shape of the plug-in, should be all that is needed.
However there may be differences in certain desktop models (was so
in the past decades) which were of narrower market; so it always is
important to check the machine hardware specifications for details.
The world-wide travel kit from Apple has a selection of passive adapter
connectors, to fit local plug-ins and other quality travel adapters can be
used; but there usually is no need to get an electronic adapter to change
the current. The Apple MagSafe power supplies automatically adjust.
In any event...
Good luck & happy trails!

Oct 20, 2016 8:52 AM in response to brijs001by Grant Bennet-Alder,Tha AC side of the MacBook power adapters is removable. In the US, you can use either the compact plug adapter (sometimes called "duck-bill") or the two meter extension type cord.
If you are in India for a while, you may find it more convenient to obtain a two-meter extension type cord with the local plug for the wall-end.
But no transformer is needed.
