Oct 20, 2016 9:07 PM in response to motlemby motlem,It was a 'woot' moment when iPod restored from iTunes on hubby's computer. But now back to my computer, it's doing the same ol', same ol'. Just will NOT upload.
BTW, I had also restarted computer immediately before attempting the restore on my computer, as you suggested.
I give up and I think I'll trash this iPod. Thanks again.

Oct 20, 2016 9:27 PM in response to motlemby motlem,This is truly amazing ... I decided to just completely use my hubby's iTunes and the dang iPod uploads perfectly. How weird is that! I was ready to throw it in the garbo, but it's uploaded all the songs.
I wonder if I bought another iPod and tried to use it on my computer would I have the same difficulties? I really want my own 2nd iPod. Dunno. But anyway, that is such a weird thing, yes.

Oct 20, 2016 10:25 PM in response to motlemby Kenichi Watanabe,Yes, that IS weird... On your computer, it seems like everything is the same for the two shuffles. Same model, same USB docking cable, same port, same iTunes installation. The only explanation that makes sense is that one is faulty in some way. But you just tried it on a different computer, and it works 100% there. Glad to hear that the shuffle's working, at least on another computer...
The only thing I can think of that may be different for the two shuffles, when used on your computer, is the drive letter that Windows assigns to each. iPods are just USB storage devices to Windows, so each one gets a drive letter. This was actually a known issue with old Windows XP, when it sometimes got "confused" and switched driver letters between an iPod and another storage device. I haven't heard about it being a problem with Windows 7, but maybe change that shuffle's drive letter to something else to see if that makes a difference. Perhaps the problem is that both shuffles are assigned the same drive letter, so iTunes thinks its accessing only one shuffle when there are two.
