Q: Double and triple and even more photos

For some reason many ,but not all of my photos, have doubled, tripled and in some cases four or fives times! I just went from just over 8000 pics to over 10000. This is on the pad and the phone. How do I mass delete the multiples?

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.5

    Simple answer is to use safe, tested duplicate identification software which includes

    PowerPhotos

    Duplicate Annihilator for Photos

    PowerSweeper for Photos

     

    But is you would  share what version of the OS you have and what Photos software you are using and what iCLoud settings you have and you detailed work flow we could probably help with the underlying issue of why you are getting so many duplicates

    these are the same since ios 10 but pictures just screwed up

    1 - IOS is not a Mac OS - we need the Mac OS as requested

     

    2 - Current Apple Photos i not a PHoto version - versions are a number n the format x.y.z

     

    3 - Optimize photos is only one of several iCloud settings - we need them all on both the Mac and on the IOS devices

     

    4 - you provided no information on your work flow

     

    Remember we can not see you so  only know what you tell us and it is critical that you answer questions completely  and clearly
