Q: keyboard missing letters after upgrade to mac OS

Keyboard missing certain letter ( h thru m) after upgrade from 10.10.5 to 10.12; all the rest seems fine!

    - Uninstall Avast using their instructions.

    - Rebuild the Spotlight search index since that is associated with mdworker and y are having crashes

    - Does a USB or wireless KB work OK
