Oct 20, 2016 6:44 PM in response to gobravelyby ChrisJ4203,★HelpfulIf all you have tried is to restart the phone, try a force restart. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. Test. A restore is the next step in user troubleshooting. Have you tried any other apps that use the accelerometer, like the compass or level?

Oct 19, 2016 7:26 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by gobravely,Hi ChrisJ4203,
Thank you for your reply.
As you suggested, I attempted a forced restart (with the addition of holding down the lower volume button). No luck unfortunately : )
I also opened compass, level and accelerometer apps, and all behaved in essentially the same way: pushing/accelerating to the right hand side of the phone, the same direction the orientation considers 'up'.
I'm currently attempting a restore as your suggested next step. Will let you know how this goes.
Thanks again for your reply. Much appreciated.

Oct 20, 2016 6:44 PM in response to gobravelyby ChrisJ4203,★HelpfulThen I suggest you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store for an examination, or if necessary call Apple Support and see about sending the device in. They will also have you try some additional troubleshooting. How you proceed depends on how close you are to an Apple Store.

Oct 20, 2016 6:47 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by gobravely,I contacted Apple via online chat and tried some things, and then was contacted via a phone call to try some other things and run diagnostics.
Ultimately the phone needs to be physically investigated, so I've booked an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow.
Thanks again for your help : )
