Q: Is there acnflict between iOS 10 Mail and App Switcher?

I have experienced two problems with iOS 10 on my 4th generation iPad which appear to be related to a conflict between Mail and App Switcher. Here are the scenarios:

1. Open Mail and any other app (e. g., Settings). In Mail, run a search, then select one of the retrieved emails. Switch to the other open app, then switch back to Mail. Click on "< Search". The Search box has disappeared along with the list of retrieved emails. Instead, the user is presented with the list of all emails in the Mailbox.

2. Sometimes, when I click a link in an email, Safari opens but the target website does not open. The list of Favorites is displayed instead. In order to get to the desired website I have to return to Mail and click the link again. This happens even when there are less than six tabs open in Safari and when there is more than 4 GB of free space on my iPad.

Another problem which may or may not be related is that App Switcher doesn't respond as it did in iOS 9. Double clicking the home button does not always bring up the App Switcher.

Hi. Your first two items have already been reported here, exactly as you describe them. You should report them to Apple  here https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html. I'd suggest a separate post for each problem, to ensure they don't get overlooked. It seems like all the button click actions have been sped up with iOS 10. You may find the double click is more reliable if you slow it up in Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button.

    Diana,

Thanks for the tip about Home Button speed. That seems to work for me. Regarding the Mail issues, I am one of those who has posted comments about the first two items. I've also sent feedback to Apple on each issue. But yesterday I also sent Apple feedback containing essentially the same text as I wrote in my post above. I thought it was important to communicate my speculation that the two issues might be related.
