Oct 20, 2016 12:34 AM in response to raul.i.martinezby Eau Rouge,Apple decided to cut off the MacPros prior to 2010 from the Sierra upgrade.
However there was a firmware upgrade that allowed the 2009 (4.1) MacPro to
'become' a 2010 (5.1), which means you can install Sierra. Have a search on the net for the firmware upgrade.
Also you could have a look at this, http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-12-sierra-unsupported-macs-thread.1 977128/ this is what I used to upgrade my 2008 (3.1) MacPro to Sierra.

Oct 20, 2016 12:39 AM in response to raul.i.martinezby K Shaffer,The limits and conditions for use of macOS Sierra 10.12 are outlined here:
• MacOS Sierra - Technical Specifications - from Apple Support
A few of the final numbers changed from the beta version once the retail
version was made available. Some marginal hardware versions were able
to use a patch to install, but that is not supported.
In any event...
Good luck & happy trails!
