Q: installing bootcamp for 3ds max

Hi

I work on 3ds studio max with Vray plugin for rendering.

Unfortunately there is no OS X version of autodesk 3ds max.

Will my laptop and rendering speed be slow if I install bootcamp for 3ds max on windows ?

and will the overall system become weak doing so ?

If not, how much partition should i create for smooth functioning of mac and windows ?

(I use MacBook pro 2015)

Looking forward for your immediate reply.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12)

What are the specs of your MBP? There's really no way to answer your question without this information.

Rendering will be slow - but it would be slow on any machine. Rendering is just a slow process. However - since Boot Camp makes your Mac a dual-boot system, your Mac performance won't be affected just because you have Windows installed on a different partition. How much partition is totally subjective - the size won't make any difference in the performance of either environment. It has been my experience that people almost always set aside less than they need - in my research the most common question I see is regarding how to make a larger Boot Camp partition. The thing is, there's a right way to do it and many, many wrong ways that will destroy your Windows install. So set aside more than you think you'll need to begin with.

Autodesk's M&E group has several programs that work on macOS - is there a reason you picked the one that doesn't?
