Rendering will be slow - but it would be slow on any machine. Rendering is just a slow process. However - since Boot Camp makes your Mac a dual-boot system, your Mac performance won't be affected just because you have Windows installed on a different partition. How much partition is totally subjective - the size won't make any difference in the performance of either environment. It has been my experience that people almost always set aside less than they need - in my research the most common question I see is regarding how to make a larger Boot Camp partition. The thing is, there's a right way to do it and many, many wrong ways that will destroy your Windows install. So set aside more than you think you'll need to begin with.
