Water spill on MacBook Pro 2015 model

Spilt 1/2 glass of water on my 2015 MacBook Pro - it powered down straight away by itself. I tipped it upside down and shook water off then dried it down. Now have it face down over a milk crate with fan blowing on it. Any suggestions for what to do?

A MBP shutting down on its own when an ingress of water has occurred is a very bad sign. Your best option is for the MBP to be examined at an Apple store genius bar and have the extent of damage determined. My best conjecture is that major components have short-circuited and are unusable. The only good news I can offer is that the evaluation will be FREE.

Ciao.

Thanks for this. I called the Apple support line and they told me to charge the computer and try to restart. Nothing happened so I suspect you are correct. Then I rang an Apple Reseller who does maintenance who were rather shocked that Apple Support had told me to re-power and try to restart the machine, as this could cause further shorting if there was still water in the machine, so I am not happy....
