volume and brightness keys not responding

Question

volume and brightness keys not responding

on my MacBook Pro up and down volume, keyboard and display adjustment keys are not responding, i noticed this after changing a few settings

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

It happened to me the other day. A restart fixed it right up.

System Preferences : Keyboard panel : Keyboard. Uncheck Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys. Now the Apple symbolics on the function keys will be enabled by direct press.
