Itunes stops woprking when opened on Windows 10 desktop. Can``t find a solution

Every time I try to launch Itunes the program shows a pop up saying "Itunes has stopped working". I stopped the Windows firewall in services but no luck. Has anyone a answer to this bugging problem

Try starting the Event Viewer from the search box in the start button, type in the text Event Viewer until you see a suitable result above then click on it. Launch iTunes, which will presumably crash. Look in the application log and select the recent error.

If, as I suspect, you're seeing a WebKit.dll related error then enter one of the following in an elevated command prompt (right-click the command prompt shortcut and click run as administrator) where the path to your version of WebKit.dll indicates which you should choose:

SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

Weirdly once I got mine working I was able to reset my path and visiting the store no longer causes iTunes to crash. In fact setting the path this way only only affects the system until the next reboot, so you don't need to actively undo the edit.

I'd normally recommend a full tear down and rebuild as shown in the second box of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates, however I'm aware of one user still having problems with iTunesCore.dll after updating to iTunes 12.5.1.21 that are similar to yours. It is just possible that approach with PATH in my first post might help. It certainly won't hurt to try it.

I CANNOT SEEM TO FINDYOUR POST REFERENCING PATH

That was this post: Re: Itunes stops woprking when opened on Windows 10 desktop. Can``t find a solution.

Having updated the PATH it may also help to launch iTunes as the administrator by right-clicking its shortcut. Sadly having found a solution to the issue that worked for me I wasn't able to recreate it so it is always possible that I've missed something that I did that might have had an impact.

At this point I don't know. Not seen this particular error through to a definite solution yet. See Fix unexpected quits or launch issues in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support. Test behaviour in iTunes safe mode, with a new library, or with a new user profile.

Personally I was seeing the same sort of thing, crash as soon as I accessed anything connected to the store, but in my case the error message gave WebKit.dll as the source of the error and the workaround fixed it. Since iTunesCore.dll is in the same folder as iTunes.exe such a fix shouldn't be necessary if it was an exactly parallel problem. I was hoping it might be same WebKit.dll issue being reported differently, but it seems this is a completely separate issue.

It would be useful to know whether or not it makes any difference if you attempt to open iTunes in a new profile? This should make it clear if the issue is connected to your user profile or your system as a whole. If it applies only to your profile there are ways to reset that while protecting your library. Otherwise the next tactic would be to roll back to the version that worked for you previously.

Good evening Turingtest2

After searching from my end in particular other apps that could conflict with itunes I had memories of Firewalls causing a problem

So in an effort to see, I turned all my security off or disabled it

Surprise Surprise Itunes openewd with no problem. I haved edited rules in security suite and as of now there seems to be no glitshes

This tip may help others too. I run several websites and a common prob is plugins interfering with eachj other and themes.

I SHALL CHECK AGAIN IN THE MORNING as it is 02:00 here

Again many thanksand lol.
