Q: iOS 10 does not complete download of photos from iCloud
Does anyone have a clue how to see which photos are stored in the iCloud and not on the phone? And how do you trigger the download of the remaining ones?
After switching to the iPhone 7 I would like to download all my pictures and videos which I previously uploaded from an iPhone 6 onto the iP7's memory. On the iP6 I used the "optimise" function and all originals were uploaded and maintained in the cloud.
After changing back the setting on the iP7 to "load and keep originals" in the iCloud Fotos settings iOS10 started downloading the items. I started this on 4/Oct/16, however, from the roughly 10'000 photos and 500+ videos I still have 141 items that are not loaded yet. The download process got stuck at 141 items to download since roughly a week. Unfortunately, I don't know which photos or videos I am still missing. I get the number when I change the toggle de-activating iCloud Fotomediathek. I am afraid to turn off the iCloud Fotomediathek, which will delete the locally stored low-resolution copy, as I fear the originals will also get deleted from the iCloud. My internet connection is fibreglass at 40Mbit/s down and upload and it works flawless.
Anyone any idea how to solve this?
Initially, I had some issues downloading the photos back on the phone, as downloading did not start immediately, see the posting from back then: How to download fotos from iCloud to iOS10
Thanks,
Rob
