Q: Avoiding accidentally sending emails from wrong account in iOS10

I never had this problem in iOS 9, but since upgrading my iPhone to iOS 10 I've accidentally sent emails from the wrong account on more than one occasion, which can be confusing for the recipient in many cases.

Of course I can can take extra extra extra care to always look at the From: header before touching Send, but I wonder why this is happening.

I have 8 accounts set up. 4 are Gmail, 1 is iCloud, 2 are generic IMAP accounts and 1 is a carrier mail account from my iPhone carrier here in Japan.

By default it seems that I am in my "main personal account" that I use for my Apple ID and for sending email to friends and family. But it seems that sometimes the default from address that pops up isn't that account, even though I do seem to have that account selected.

I'm thinking maybe of just using different email apps for different accounts for some of these.

Anybody else have this kind of problem?

Thanks,

I only have two email accounts that I use. One is a gmail account and the other one is outlook. I never had this problem with both accounts. I make sure that I am sending emails to the right people. Make sure that your accounts are protected. This means you need strong passwords for all the email accounts you use. Also, try signing out of all your accounts and sign back in again. Next, try sending an email to people in your contacts using the same accounts and see if the "from" header says the wrong email address. You should only be the person sending those emails. Hope this helps and good luck!

I should be clearer. There is no problem, as far as I can see, involving security. And I'm sure if I actually see the correct "from" address the email is being sent from that address.

The problem is a matter of not double-checking before sending each and every email to make sure the set from address is correct.

It just seems a lot easier in iOS 10 to make a mistake and accidentally be sending email from the wrong account.

I think it's an iOS 10 usability problem.

I decided, for now, to just divide the accounts between Mail and Outlook to keep personal and business account separated at least, to avoid that confusion.
