Q: NI Massive not working in Logic

Hi there,

does anyone have any insights into why my son's legit copy of Native Instruments Massive is suddenly saying `plugin not available' in Logic?

We've tried every fix NI recommend on their website, and ensured both Logic and Massive are properly updated.

All files are present in their correct locations.

Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?

Logic Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), 64 bit mac

    You're running OS X 10.8?

What version of Logic Pro X?

I use Native Instruments for about 90% of the time for my composing.  But I don't use Massive but very rarely.  I have had issues before.  If NI support can't fix it, I've always uninstalled and re-installed the add-on package.  NI has guidelines for doing this, I believe.

    Latest version of Logic.

    Fixed it.

I deleted then reinstalled Massive - didn't work.

We called Native Instruments in Berlin and got through to Tech support.

The guy got us to run plugin manager in Logic and it re-recognised it.

Working fine again now - but I find their software very flaky - despite the widespread use and rave reviews elsewhere, I'm actually starting to think they're a bit rubbish.

What synths etc does everyone else use?

I've heard Omnisphere is very good - but expensive.

Anyone have a view on Sylenth - is it stable?
