TThanks for the information. I have done everything but a hard reset. I am not sure if the issue is with iOS 10 or my new iPhone 7 Plus but I have issues with Bluetooth devices loosing connectivity. This happens in my car and with Bluetooth earphones I own. Pairing seems to be fine; but I get digital scrambles and loose connection after about 20 minutes in the car. The headphones just more or less sound like I am fast forwarding a song or podcast.

Hi Vince1015,

Thanks for the update. We still need to isolate this to a hardware or software issue. First of all, please make sure you have updated your iPhone 7 to iOS 10.0.3. Tap Settings > General > Software Update. Quit all apps and restart the iPhone after the update.

Please check to see if there are any firmware or software updates for your car's stereo system and for your headphones for iOS 10.

Follow the steps in my earlier post to unpair the Bluetooth accessory, put it back in discovery mode, then pair and connect it again.

If the issue persists, you may need to have an Apple Retail Genius or an Apple Authorized Service Provider physically inspect your iPhone.

Take care.

There are serious Bluetooth audio connection issues for cars etc and the iPhone. For me I have been unable to get a iPhone 7 to stay connected if I attempt to listen to music. My car is a 2015 and I have no issues with my 6s running 10.0.2 but have not been able to get any iPhone 7 to stay connected. I use AT&T and am considering returning my 7+ if 10.1 doesn't fix it.

My iPhone 6 worked perfectly with my car until the ios 10 update and still wont stay connected for more than a few seconds. My son has my old 5s which is still on ios 9 and that works great in my car so it's not the car's Bluetooth at fault! Wish is could downgrade back to ios 9 as this is ridiculous and could end up with me getting fined and penalty points if I pick up a call whilst driving.

Dear Brenden,

No that is not the solution to the issue here. The issue is iOS 10+.

@Everyone: Do not upgrade to iOS 10+ if you want to use your bluetooth properly.

There are too many threads where customers clearly express the following:

1) I upgraded to iOS10+

2) ever since the bluetooth (audio related) connections of many users keep on getting connected and disconnected

3) I can also add to this, that I had to sent my iphone 6 in for repairs and I used my iphone 4s. I never had an issue with the constant bluetooth disconnect and reconnect on the iPhone 4S. Also before iOS10+ the bluetooth worked just fine on the iPhone6.

Now my rhetorical question: how does your recommendation "upgrade from iOS 7.?? to 10.?? iOS solve the issue!?

The rule of the Software and Hardware world is:

1)Never change a working system

2)If you changed it and it doesn't work, either correct it or change it back.

Apple has dropped the ball here here for too long. They also decided to close off the WiFi department. This is not looking good for the in-house Wireless know-how.

Hi darren.s,

Wrong! - Trump

These steps are for setting up a bluetooth communication with almost any bluetooth capable "master" device.

The issue here is iOS10+ on iphone devices.

Your recommendation doesn't lead to a solution and doesn't belong to the thread. Solution is based on Apple correcting the errors (let's call them features) they brought into the iOS 10+.

I did the latest 10.2 install yesterday hoping it might fix my Bluetooth connectivity but alas no joy, still the same problem of losing connection in my Audi a few seconds or minutes after connecting. Really frustrated by this! It's been months now with no fix. As I said in my previous post on this my old 5s which is still on ios 9 connects and stays connected and works perfectly as did my 6 until the ios 10 came out and game over!!!
