Oct 22, 2016 1:19 AM in response to adeelpervezkhanby K Shaffer,There are likely some independent authorized Apple trained service providers
who also sell new or repaired/refurbished macs that may take a good condition
model in on part trade, toward a newer or newest model. ~ At their discretion.
So to say, 'Apple' and ask for a blanket rule, that answer would probably be NO.
Apple Store in Australia would likely not accept your old MacBook, toward new.
If the unit has a re-usable value and not too old, there may be a program that
may allow a larger percentage of value in exchange for a gift card; this may or
may not be equal or greater than the recycle program. You almost always can
do better with reselling a good working Mac Portable or certain model desktop
to a private party. Independent shops in some regions may allow consignment;
in my experience, have found better results in private sale or giving them away.
Good luck & happy trails!
