Oct 21, 2016 1:49 PM in response to dhingedby cjahn50,If you're displaying by Artist, you'll get the giant covers (they're almost as big as the actuall cd ). And yes, there's only a couple display at a time. If you display by Albums, you'll get more covers as shown in the photo in this thread and you can increase the number displayed by resizing the iTunes window. I could find no way to resize any of the artwork in any of the views. The size of the cover art when you open an album is giant as well.

Oct 21, 2016 6:19 PM in response to hhgttg27by dhinged,I switched to List view because typically that shows 10 or more albums per screen on most interfaces, but iTunes only shows two on a desktop screen.

So Grid view shows the most albums per screen? It's still kind of painful compared to the old List view (which showed dozens of albums per screen from what I remember way back on like version 10.7 or something), because I don't really need to see the details of the album cover (and many are missing even after getting info) and I have to read them left to right then down instead of just down the titles... just a nuisance.

Oct 21, 2016 7:21 PM in response to dhingedby hhgttg27,Yes, the artwork images in Albums / List view are somewhat on the large side, and can neither be resized nor turned off. The layout and spacing of track listings makes this view doubly wasteful of screen real estate, especially if you can't even see all the content of an album without scrolling, e.g.:
You could submit an issue via Apple's iTunes feedback page, though support for this kind of UI flexibility was - by intention, I assume - removed from iTunes many releases ago.

Oct 23, 2016 2:20 PM in response to hhgttg27by dhinged,Thanks for the suggestion, but why would Apple intentionally remove this kind of UI flexibility?
Here's a "normal" list (the way I've seen in most apps over the years) which shows a lot of album titles and covers per screen for a nice balance readability and minimized scrolling:
Also here is its grid view, which at least shows 4 albums per screen (when it could show 3 per line though and still see good album cover detail) and is more sensible than iTunes (which is on the same resolution on a bigger screen):

Oct 23, 2016 3:01 PM in response to dhingedby hhgttg27,No-one here knows Apple's rationale for making changes to iTunes (or any other of its products) but it may be a reasonable assumption that they are responding to a user demographic for which the focus is on songs and playlists, not on albums.

Oct 24, 2016 5:12 AM in response to hhgttg27by dhinged,I guess I don't understand how focusing on songs and playlists requires making albums difficult to peruse. This isn't a case of neglect, they literally changed how albums view so there's less information on screen and requires more scrolling, which to me isn't about focusing on songs and playlists, it's just about bad user-unfriendly design.
