Q: does an eSata port to USB3.0 adapter on Graid drive give a real improvement?

I have got an old GRaid 2 TB drive, it holds 2 FW800 ports, 1 usb2.0 and 1 e Sata 2 port, I am going to use it soon on a computer with only USB3 ports, I thought to connect the E sata port to usb3 via an adapter, has anyone used something reliable?

I have used one USB3 to e-Sata adapter in the past and it worked fine, but I can't check now what brand it was (maybe Newertech?).

In any case, it should easily be faster than any of the older connections.

FW800 or USB2 were a bottleneck, severely limiting the usefulness of the RAID. With e-SATA you should see much better throughput.

No, because that eSATA output will only go out as fast as eSATA is capable of.  I use a FW800 drive with a T'bolt adapter.  It only gives me FW800 speed, because that's the port (and throughput limit) on the drive's port itself.
