Shut down any virus protection software or any 3rd party software that might be running in the background including anything else from Adobe. Go to Adobe's web site and download the newest version for El Capitan from their web site. Follow their installation instructions.

Photos for MacWhere did you get the installer from? If it wasn't from this website, http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, delete the install package and get a new one from the Adobe site.
Next, reboot and try again with the new installer. If still no success boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try from there.

Oct 22, 2016 6:23 AM in response to Old Toadby bonniefromakron,Thanks so much for your response to my question. I did download from that website but it didn't work. I have no idea what to do after I start up in Safe Mode. I'm not very computer literate to be able to do things like that without specific instructions. If you could tell me step by step what to do after I go into Safe Mode I would be very grateful.

Photos for MacOnce booted into Safe Mode run the Flash installer again and see if it will install successfully. Then reboot normally.
