Browsers are not working properly, and buttons on websites are not responding

Dear all,

I have installed MacKeeper by mistake and then these issues appeared. However I can't for sure say MacKeeper caused it. (Note: MacKeeper is uninstalled now)

The issues are:

  • Pages are not loading unless I refresh the page 3 to 4 times.
  • If the page opens, the buttons (e.g. radio buttons in html) or images (Google image search) are not clickable ( I assume javascript issue)
  • Google search result in a white blank page after I hit the search button, and becomes normal after I refresh the page again and again.
  • These issues are not happening every time I open a page, but it happens 80% of the time.
  • These issues are noticed in Google Chrome and Safari browser.

Attempts to resolve:

  • Uninstall MacKeeper
  • Clear everything in the browsers
  • Reset the Macbook and the browsers

I hope anyone could help me with the problem.

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Just boot to Safe mode and see if it works and then boot normally and see if all is well.

I suspect that not all will be well since per

yo have to use the developer's uninstaller to remove vice just dragging the app to the Trash. Even then remnants or MacKeeper seem to remain

Do not install MacKeeper

I booted into the Safe Mode, and used DetectX to find some of the remaining flies of MacKeeper. two of them appeared to be log files and one file had a name made of random letter (similar to a serial number).

The files were removed. Then I booted back normally.

during the time I was in Safe Mode, I didnt feel any of the issues. But after I am back on a normal boot, I see the issue again.

The problem is that, these issues happen 80% of the time, so if they dont appear, it doesn't means they're gone. So during the Safe Mode boot, either it was removed cause of the safe mode, or I was lucky not to face the issue at "that time". Cant say for sure.

In short, I still have the issue.

Your hard drive is full.

You are running Torrents which can bog down your system and is possibly a source of malware.

If you did not uninstall MacKeeper according to its uninstall instructions it is possible that remnants of MacKeeper remain on your computer.

My advice is to remove significant amounts of stuff from your hard drive, stop using Torrents, and if you did not uninstall MacKeeper correctly, reinstall MacKeeper then uninstall it again using the correct procedure.
