My photo library was synced onto my iphone 6. I cannot delete them either on the phone or by resyncing with itunes with no pictures checked. Crazy inconvenient. I need the space. Evil plot to push upgrade?
No, if you use iTunes to sync these photos to your phone, then you need to unsync using iTunes.

Why can't you re-sync it with iTunes?

Oct 21, 2016 12:05 PM in response to adfbga'soiadvhjby adfbga'soiadvhj,Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I have done that many many times, syncing with iTunes with NO pictures checked. They remain stuck on the phone nevertheleSS. It worked on my iPad, but not the phone. I simply don't see why apple wont let us delete from the device directly. Why would they dream up that obstruction which wasn't there earlier. A cautionary tale re upgrading the iOS.

Oct 21, 2016 1:42 PM in response to adfbga'soiadvhjby ShagCA,Are you syncing it with the same iTunes/computer? Did you try selecting a folder with no photos? Did iTunes sync complete successfully? Have you tried upgrading iTunes?

Oct 21, 2016 2:28 PM in response to ShagCAby adfbga'soiadvhj, same computer. Yes tried syncing with empty file (but, Apple, why should one have to?). Yes sync completed. iTunes fully current. Baffled. I guess next step is full reset?
