Q: IOS 10.0.2 - Notes stopped Syncing with Mac  10.9.5

Since the update to IOS 10 the Notes app on my iPhone 6s no longer syncs with the Notes app on my Mac running System 10.9.5.  Will this be fixed?

In tests I find that Notes sync from the iPhone 6s to the iPod 5 back and forth but the Mac is now 'out of the loop' although Calendar, and Messages and Mail still sync with all three devices.

My Mac runs Version 10.9.5 System.

I hesitate to upgrade since I use GIMP for graphics and Komodo Edit for writing code and I don't want to lose compatibilty with those key programs.

Can anybody give me any recommendations on how to get Notes to sync again from my iPhone to my Mac?

    On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud then deselect Notes then re select Notes.

     

    On iOS devices tap Settings > iCloud then toggle Notes off then back on.

     

    Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

    Well this sure didn't work.  In fact I lost four notes that I had written on the iPhone that had never synced to the Mac. 

    So before this procedure I have 209 iCloud notes on my iPhone and I now have 205.  Nothing has changed on the Mac.

    Any other suggestions?
