Q: Cannot use 3-finger lookup in Preview mac OS Sierra

It was fine when I used it on previous OSX. But since I updated to mac OS Sierra, I couldn't use 3-finger lookup in Preview (other apps like Safari worked fine). Everytime I tried to use it in Preview, the app became frozen. Can anyone show me how to fix it? Thanks

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12)

A macOS Sierra, three-finger tap word look up, and its control-command-D keyboard shortcut in Preview are inoperable. A working, third alternative, two-finger tap on a word with the pointer hovering over it will bring up a contextual menu with Look Up “word.”

Checking the appropriate item in the Trackpad preferences, a Safe Boot, a removal of all user Library Caches content, and a normal reboot failed to restore the missing functionality when viewing a PDF in Preview.

This is a bug that may, or may not be rectified in subsequent updates to macOS Sierra.
