Q: previously recorded tracks are being included in subsequent recorded tracks

How do I precent previously recorded tracks from being recorded in a subsequent track? I'm attempting to add a part to a previously recorded track, but when I do the prerecorded track gets recorded on the track I'm working on.

Thanks for investigating this problem for me. I did finally figure out what was going on. My mixer has a USB Thru button. That button was engaged so the playback tracks were looping back into the track I was trying to record. Once I disengaged that USB Thru button the problem was solved. Again, thanks for helping.
