Q: I have put a backup folder in the trash by mistake. I can't empty the trash even via Terminal. Help!

I have an iMac (27 inch, late 2009), processor speed 3.06 GHz Intel Are 2 Duo, iOs 10.12

I inadvertently put one of my backup files in the trash and now am unable to empty it from the trash. I get the message that "Some items in the Trash cannot be deleted because of System Integrity Protection." I have tried emptying via Terminal but that still generates the same reason for being unable to perform the task. Any suggestions?

Open the Trash & try moving it back to the original locariom.

Was this a Time Machine file? If so you have to remove it in TM.

The attempt to move the files back to the original spot fails and gives the same reasons for the failure. It is a Time Machine file.
