Thanks Niel for your input as well as, to the others.
i am relatively new to Mac - but, I have iPhone SE; iPAD MINI; and a MacBook Pro with early 2015 software ; all current updates and Sierra installed.
On this MacBook - I have a QUICKTIME - says versions 10 xxx something, and something that says QUICKTIME 7 - it appears that QUICKTIME 7 is just for viewing things, i.e. movies etc..
My confusion lies in that why don't they just make one version available to do both??
Such as what VLC does?
Just as with iTunes, that seems to be a default program for videos, music etc..
I find it confusing to see these three options that could virtually do the same thing if apple desired.
Does that clarify my question some more?
Thanks to all.
