updater_mcb

There is a program on my Mac called updater-mcb. Get info indentifies is as a Unix executable. I am using El Capitan. My question is can it be deleted. It is the source of multiple vulnerability blocked messaged from Norton Security.

Thanks,

Bob

I downloaded a program called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It identified updater_mcb as adware and deleted it. There have been no adverse effects on my computer from deleting this file.
