I have a new iPhone 5s 16GB. generally OK except for malfunctioning audio connection in FaceTime Video Mode. How can this be corrected or repaired?

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device. Have all these troubleshooting steps been tried?

I have not tried your suggested solution as have difficulty doing this.
I would really prefer to return the iPhone 5 s to an Apple repair or return Agency, if I can only find one in the Alicante area of Spain. (other suggestions are that it is physical/mechanical)
