Q: macOS Sierra
I have a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid-2012) 8GB RAM 750GBHDD
I have just recently updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Sierra from El Capitian (but I originally started with OS X Mavericks).
I'm trying to tidy my HDD as I have virtually run out of space with all the movies I have purchased. I'm wondering if when I update to a new OS if the old OS still takes up space on my hard drive or is replaced by new OS. Also, I suppose the same could be said for any upgraded programme that I have on the HDD.
I'm not very confident in deleting items on my MacBook unless it's documents or spreadsheets etc.
I thank you for your time and any advice or guidance that you could provided.

Thank you for your advice and for the post to be moved to the right forum. It is the very first time that I have used the communities page to place a question. Your time is very much appreciated.
