I made an in app purchase with a credit card

I Recently made an in app purchase &I didn't realize I didn't have enough on my debit card. So today I couldn't update my game. I bought an iTunes card to pay for the overage,I redeemed it to my account,it still won't let me update. It keeps asking d my credit card info,how can I get it to just take the money from the iTunes credit on my account?
