Q: Cancelled warranty from a new Macbook Pro
I bought a Macbook Pro three months ago and started giving me several problems such as overheating and sudden restarts the same day I got it. After some time thinking that those problems were normal (never had any Mac before) I decided to bring it to the Apple store when I experienced a weird pink color in the screen. They told me they would change the logic board or the screen without any problem and fast (they had to check why it was happening).
Fast forward 8 days later they call me and tell me there is a corrosion and that if I want the computer fixed I'll have to pay 720€ because it's out of the warranty. I go to the Apple Store to talk to a Genius Bar dude who basically tells me to buy a new computer because by fixing it they can't assure me the damage isn't deeper (they haven't even opened the rest of the computer, just attached a picture which shows a tiny little spot with green corrosion). I claimed that the computer had already given me some trouble when I bought it and they basically responded that I could have spilled an orange juice in it. It obviously didn't happen. So I asked them if moisture couldn't have damaged a computer that was defective by default (I've read that the Macbook Pro resists 90% humidity) and they consistently reply that since the damage is from a liquid the warranty doesn't cover it and didn't want to listen to my words (I am no technician and my knowledge about hardware is limited, so the dude told me that if I wanted to hire a technician outside Apple to check it it would probably cost me more than repairing it and wouldn't even help). They also said that if the computer was damaged when I bought it doesn't matter if there is corrosion, because that cancels any right to warranty, even after insisting that no liquid was spilled to the computer (I only use it for college and basic use). Has anyone experienced any similar situation? If not, maybe give me some insight on what my options are here? (I've already stated a complaint to Apple's Customer Service after 45minutes of phone wait).
TL;DR: Genius Bar doesn't accept the possibility that a Macbook Pro bought 3 months ago wasn't resistant enough to moisture and want me to buy a new computer instead of fixing it for free sticking to the warranty.
