Q: Old time machine photos to DVD help

A friend has supplied me with an external Time Machine drive (Western Digital Black) that has 23g of photos in a Time Machine Photos directory dating from 2007 to 2013. She is now using an ipad only and has ask for the photos to be put on dvd.

I have Sierra installed and had storage to handle the files, how should I proceed to get them out of the backup and onto the dvd. I had the error code that i needed to install a iPhoto library Upgrader, but I don't think I want to import them into my Photos library, but export them as .jpeg.

I'm not sure i want to upload them to a cloud service at this time. But that may come. I do not have the bandwidth to upload 23g of someone else files.

What to do?

Thanks

Mark

I would just restore the Photos Library to local storage, open Photos with the option key held down, select that library and export images as desired to fit into 5 GB chunks. (by date? by subject?)

You must restore the library from the Time Machine backup from within the Time Machine application.  Save it to your hard drive.  Open the iPhoto Library package like this:

Next locate the Originals folder inside the package and move it to the Desktop.  Burn the contents of that folder (numerous subfolders) to DVD disks via the Finder.  This will provide your friend with all of the original, full sized and full resolution image files on DVD disks.
