Q: Two or more of the same image on iphone

OH goodness what have I done?  I synched my iPhone 6s with my Mac and synced all my photos. Next day I then enabled iCloud Photo Library. . Now I have two or more of all my photos on my phone and don't know which to delete!  Is there an easy way of finding out what is on my phone and what is coming down from the cloud?  Ideally I would like to remove all photos from my phone and just have all of them stored in the cloud.

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 10.0.3

In the Photos preferences what is the iCLoud Photo Library status?  If it is in the process of uploading then the downloads and syncing do not complete - everything needs to finish for it to be correct

Hi Larry No it finished this afternoon. I now have over 5000 images on.my phone, a mixture of the ones I synched using a cable connecting the phone to the Mac (iTunes synch) and the ones that have come down from the cloud. Is there a way of deleting the synched ones and keeping the cloud ones?  How do I tell which is which?

The only way to delete pictures that were synched by cable via iTunes is to repeat the iTunes synch with those pictures not selected. (Select only an empty folder if you want to synch no pictures.)

This sounds logical. I'll try it today.
