Q: Delete Pics from Camera after Sierra not working

Using a 27-inch iMac, Mid 2011.

Using Sony Cyber-Shot   Sony DSC-H50 (given in information on picture)

After upgrading to Sierra, when importing photos (jpg format) from my camera, I check the delete photos from camera box.

I start Photos app first, and then turn on my camera in its transfer mode. Camera connected by USB cable to the back of the computer.

I do the import, and used to get a banner showing up in Notifications when import was finished. NO LONGER HAPPENS. This would tell me it was safe then to dismount the device in the sidebar of photos.  Now I just have to guess.

And the photos now are NOT deleted from the camera. (it will show me when I mount the camera the next time that the pictures were already imported)

Thinking perhaps I was dismounting my camera too early, I left it mounted for over an hour before disconnecting and this made no difference. Pictures were not deleted.

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12)

1 - you have to check the delete after import box ot the right of the camera in Photos prior to importing

2 - doing this is NOT recommended since it risks losing photos in case of a problem - it is best to import and be sure the import completes normally and that at least one backup cu\ycle has completed then use the camera's format command to erase and reformat the card

I do check the delete box before importing.

While I can, an now do, delete the pictures on the camera itself, never had to do this before Sierra release.

Also import notification is not there in Sierra.

Should I report this as bug, as you suggested with the cropping bug I brought up here?
