I'm new to Apple TV 4th Gen. I need to have a user guide in my hands.
Does anyone know how I can download a PDF for the user guide for this device?
I am very frustrated.

There isn't one as such. There is an iBook at https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/id1050195582 , though it's a bit out of date and you can't print it.
There's a very detailed and more up to date web manual at http://help.apple.com/appletv/#/atvbccd076b5 - you could perfectly well make a PDF of each section (command-P then choose Save as PDF) though it's a lot of pages.

Thanks so much for your response. It is very, very frustrating. While I know I can get the iBook, I want an honest-to-god manual in my hands!
I may have to do as you suggest -- create my own PDF!
Practically nobody provides printed full manuals any more. I agree it can make things awkward.
I'm a technical writer by trade (35 years 😮) and it irks me that product manuals are so difficult to come by.
I did as you suggested. Now I have a manual that I can print and hold in my hands.

You have amassed quite a bit of information there. Thank you very much! I just bought an Apple TV 4th gen and didn't know how to use it. My oldest son walked me through a few things, but some technology is not that intuitive to me. Younger people may be able to slide right through using this thing, but...
I am the type of user who wants a hard copy of a user manual. This is most likely from my long career as a technical writer. I don't want an online guide. It is what it is
