Q: No OS-level clipboard manager?

Problem: Sometimes I want to paste more than one thing at a time.

Bad solution: Keep the different things handy and flip back to copy each one repeatedly.

Good solution: Keep the different things in a clipboard with several 'pages'.

You should recognize the good solution as a "clipboard manager", but there is apparently no OS-level solution. The App Store has a BUNCH of candidates. I could almost go bankrupt trying the large number of paid options. There are also a few free options, where the cost is my time--but that could become infinitely expensive if one of those so-called "free" options was actually infested with malware... As usual, the economic models remain inscrutable.

Maybe the problem is simply too esoteric or rare to justify a solution in the OS? The apps I looked at all seemed to be quite low usage with small numbers of reviews... None of them created a feeling of trustworthiness.

So why hasn't Apple added this functionality to the OS? If it's there, they are hiding it well, including from the reviewers of Mac clipboard managers.
