Q: My iTunes playlist won't play some songs completely.

This is a problem I've been having for some time. If I make a playlist on iTunes on my Macbook and put it on shuffle, then while it doesn't skip out any songs completely, it often moves on to the next song without playing the current song completely. It'll be playing the song fine, but then it'll just skip over the last 10-15 seconds and start playing the next song. If I play the same song individually, then it plays the whole song. I don't think I've changed any settings or preferences that would make this happen, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

If I play the same song individually, then it plays the whole song.

So, it skips sometimes, but not always.  A song that skips does not always skip at the exact same spot.  Therefore, it's probably not a problem with your song files, because that would likely cause the same songs to always skip at the same spot.

Do you use headphones (or external speakers) that connect to the MacBook's headphones jack (audio output port)?  If you do, try disconnecting whatever is connected there, and do the things that cause this problem.  Does the problem still occur if listening from your MacBook's built-in speakers.

Are you listening to song files that are stored on your MacBook's drive?  Or are you streaming songs from iCloud or the Apple Music service.  If you're playing songs from your iTunes library, find the song that just skipped and right-click the song, then Get Info.  On Info window File tab, look for location.  Does location show a file path to where that song's file is stored, or does it say iCloud.

If all songs that skip are being streamed, that may indicate an intermittent issue with your Internet connection.
