Cannot login to iMac after upgrade to sierra

After upgrade to Sierra my iMac do not accept my password, so I cant get pass the login screen. Tried in safe mode with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got same problem.

However, finally, I find that, In fact, it requires very long time to login successfully, maybe 5~10 minutes.

I get whole hard drive backed-up, then re-installed OS X Yosemite. Yosemite can't read back-up files by newer OS X. I had to upgrade it to Sierra again, and recover from it, but there's still the problem.

I have the same situation. I tried resetting the SMC and PRAM

It also took a long time after the screen turned back to get the log in screen. Is there any procedure in terminal to reset the password to default?
