Start and stop times of apple music song ignored on iPhone

In ITunes set the start and stop time of a song downloaded from Apple Music. (The song has a bunch of stuff at the beginning and end that I don't want to hear while I'm running). I use iCloud to keep music in sync on all my devices which seems to be working fine. But the start and stop times Ido not seem to be honored on my iPhone.

Is this a bug or is there something extra I should be doing? I don't seem to find the same opportunity to define start and stop times on my iPhone directly.

Thank you for taking the time Sarah but this didn't actually help me. Again I am using Apple Music not buying songs individually. As mentioned I can do Get Info and set the Start and Stop times on any song it works as expected.

But only on that device. They don't apply when I play it on other devices. New songs will appear on all devices but the start stop times I add don't go with them. An easy workaround would be to set the Start and Stop times on those songs on each device individually.

Can't though. Can't do 'Get Info' from your iPhone which is where I actually need those the most.

This is either a bug or a missing feature that would allow you to set start and stop times on your iPhone.

Hi stutesmonster,

Thanks for your question. To change the start and stop times of a song, it has to reside in your iTunes Library. You can right-click on the song, choose Get Info, choose the Options tab and change the times in the Start and Stop fields. Choose the "Enable Playback Position" option. You may want to click on the Details tab and edit the name of the song to indicate this was edited. If you have iCloud Music Library enabled, the song should update on all of your devices.
