Q: how to delete item in reading list

I have searched but the answers are all from 2013 or older. They do not work for me.

There is a new look to the list of items saved to read later. Swiping and tapping do not bring up the X-out option.

I am using up-to-date Safari.

Also, how do I get the icons back on the bookmarked items?

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), using a router (desktop and tablet)

    Removing Reading list Item/items

The familiar  “x” button is no more available.

Either right click or hold the control  key down  and click on an item.

Choose “Remove Item” to remove a single item.

To clear all items, choose “Clear All Items…”.

    Using trackpad gesture

    Select the item.

On the trackpad do a two finger swipe to the left.

A big red “Remove” button will appear, click on it  to remove an item.
