Q: iMovie won't let me add clips into my movie unless they're 0.7 seconds long.

I try to add clips into my movie, but unless the clip is under a second long, iMovie will not let me add it. I don't know how to get the application to allow me to add longer clips.

What version of iMovie and OS are you using? What exactly do you mean when you say "won't let me add"? Are you talking about video clips or photos or both? What happens when you try to add clips from the browser to the timeline? Does it refuse to go into the timeline or does it go in but gets shortened to 0.7 sec? What do you have set in preferences for photo duration? As a first step try deleting iMovie preferences. In iMovie 10 open iMovie holding down the command and option keys and select delete preferences.
