Q: remove the Apple Activity app from my device

Hello,

How do I remove the Apple activity app from my phone 6 and watch series 1? Since the updates the apps are corrupt and even if I don't 'link' them to any other app, the data is still being generated. The Apple store returned my phone and watch Thursday evening. So my run Friday was the first with both 'new' devices. However, I've had to problem consistently since the 3.0 and 10.0 updates. The app doesn't play well with others.

See images for specifics. The first images shows 3 runs captured for the same day (Thursday & Friday). At least this time all the times and distances were the same. Image #2 shows the phenomenal calorie burn I achieve!!! Even when I delete the error, it will show up again in MyFitnessPal later in the day, sometimes 3 or 4 times. Image 3 and 4 show how the app doesn't even play well with itself. My walk was captured in the 'workout' but not in the overall summary.

I just want the thing off my devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

    Hi rwright,

I see you are experiencing an issue where data is being duplicated or inaccurate in the activity application.  While this application isn't one that can be deleted, I do have some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve this issue.  Let's first start with attempting to calibrate your Apple Watch and then test.  The next step would involve unpairing the Apple Watch from your iPhone and then pairing again.  I would suggest setting it up as new for testing purposes.  Please take a look at the information below on these steps.

Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy

Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone

Please let us know if the issue persists, and thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers.

    Hello, thanks for the response.

Friday was the day I calibrated the watch because the phone and the watch were replaced. I followed the instructions on the link you provided. Saturday was the day the 'workout' activity didn't match the daily history activity. I unpaired the watch on Sunday but did not use the activity app for my run because I didn't want screwed up information. I'll have to try it tomorrow and see if it works.

Why can't the activity app be uninstalled? I also get erroneous data from the Apple app in MyFitnessPal as well on my phone. The calories and steps never match what is on my phone in the 'activity' of the Heart app as well.  For example, Saturday, my step app recorded 9,568 steps, the Apple app recorded 7,514 (both of which are on the same phone). Since I have a new phone and watch, I'm assuming the issue is with the apps and not the devices. It's like the Heart app and Activity app are doing two different things from the phone. Most of the time now, I don't even use the watch because the information is never right. I think the two devices are worse since the 3.0 and 10.0 updates. Perhaps now the series 1 watch can't work with the phone if both devices are updated.
