Q: Mac Safari history search

Hi,

My safari version is 9.1.1 and I am using El Capitan.

I opened "Show History" screen of safari and searched for the word "food". This search brought 229 results but most of the results are unrelated to the word "food".  Can someone please tell why safari is behaving like this? If I search using Chrome or Firefox, only related results are shown. But safari is bringing everything.

I am inserting screenshot.Screen Shot 2016-10-23 at 1.01.52 PM.png

Thanks.

Might be a cache issue ...

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Quit and relaunch Safari then try searching your history.

    Hi Carolyn,

Thank you for your response. I deleted the Cache.db file, relaunched Safari but nothing changed. Search is still showing irrelevant results.

Did you try Safari search? Do you get accurate results?
