i am creating an apple book using old photos. On some of the pics there is an explanation mark. I understand this may be because of the quality of the pic. Will this mark show up on the finished book?

I am creating an apple book using old photos. On some of the pics an exclamation mark is showing up. I understand the quality is not the best, but this all I have to work with. Will this exclamation mark be on the finished product??

No. That's a warning that the image is below Apple's resolution limits for images in books. Create a PDF file as described in this Apple doucument: Preview a print project in Photos or iPhoto to avoid issues - Apple Support. Check the pdf to see if those pages are acceptable to you.

However, iPhoto is no longer able to order print products, i.e. books, cards, calendars, etc., from Apple. Apple dropped support for iPhoto about a year ago. There is a 3rd party book provider that can print books from the PDF file that iPhoto creates: PrestoPhoto.

If you want to order a book from Apple you'll need to upgrade your system to Sierra and use the new Photos library to order a book. The themes are different so you won't be able to get the exact same book as you have now.
